Voltway has been NICEIC approved for eighteen years and employs six electricians across Tyne and Wear. Roughly half our work is EICR testing for letting agents and the other half is domestic — consumer units, rewires, fault finding and the 24-hour emergency line.
The thing that has kept the agent work is administrative rather than technical. Certificates are lodged with the scheme and emailed the same day, codes are explained in plain English, and if a report comes back unsatisfactory we separate the inspection from the remedial quote so nobody has to wonder whether the faults were invented.
Three commitments
Two of them cost us money, which is rather the point.
The inspection is separate from the repair
We will issue an EICR and hand it to you with no obligation to use us for the remedials. An inspector who profits from finding faults is not an inspector.
We say when work is not needed
Plenty of consumer units flagged as urgent by others are perfectly serviceable. If yours is, we will tell you, and we will put it in writing.
No charge when it is the supplier's fault
If an emergency call-out turns out to be a cut-out fuse or a network fault rather than your installation, we call it in and charge nothing.
